List of Accounting and Assurance Webcasts
Background
Publicly available webcasts are an effective learning tool for auditors to keep up to date on developments in standards. In order to support an increased awareness of these self learning opportunities, AEA maintains the following list of free accounting and assurance webcasts made publicly available by various entities (such as accounting firms, standard setting bodies and others).
This list is periodically updated (at least quarterly) as AEA becomes aware of new, relevant accounting and assurance webcasts which may be of interest to auditors. Updates to the List of Accounting and Assurance Webcasts will be communicated to auditors via AEA’s “Webcasts - Webémissions” MS Teams channel when they are considered to be of particular significance.
Please note that the listed webcast content is not produced by the OAG. As such, it is available only in the language in which it was published, and at times is not available in both Official Languages. Auditors can consult AEA at any time if they wish to seek assistance about any of the topics covered in these public webcasts. AEA provides assistance in both Official Languages.
Administrative information
Time spent viewing these webcasts should be charged to PD7501—Self Learning/E-Learning.
In order to avoid conflicts with operational priorities, auditors should consult with their manager prior to registering for any self‑learning activities. Consistent with other self‑learning options in the Office, PD will not centrally track the nature or events that an individual’s self‑learning hours relate to. Rather, it is up to each participant to ensure that he/she has appropriately supported the breakdown of self‑learning hours as required by their respective provincial accounting Institutes for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits. Individuals that wish to have a webcast show in their training history can complete a PD5 form which is available from OAG Campus (from the Homepage, click on the My Learning Portal link, click on the Resources tab and select the form).
