Preface

This summary, of federal and provincial audits of environmental and natural resource issues, has been updated to cover the period between 2000 and 2012.

The summary was originally developed by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, following a 2005 symposium on environmental auditing that took place in Toronto, Ontario. Participants from legislative audit offices, internal audit, and municipalities attended from across Canada. The event was sponsored by the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation (CCAF) and hosted by the Auditor General of Ontario.

Please note that titles are given in French when they are not available in English. All titles are available online, on the website of each auditor general’s office. We have included links to the various audit reports for the reader’s convenience.
